Staying With Us

We love to welcome visitors to the En Gedi Worship & Retreat Center in Nacala, Mozambique. God is doing amazing things in Nacala through our Mozambican team. Visitors will have the chance to join in daily life & ministries including children’s program, jail visits, church seminars & outreach. All ministries are in Portuguese and we don’t have translators (but do have the Spirit!) We also have a worship room open 24/7 on base. Since we are a Retreat Center, we try to organize visitors in groups of around 10 people at a time, up to 10 days, with intentional worship & reflection time built into the trip.

All potential visitors must start the journey with our invitation process as outlined in this email.

Please do not purchase your tickets until you have received an invitation and confirmed visa with Iris.

Visitor Requirements

1.     A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a hunger for more of the Lord

2.     Must be over 18 years, or with an accompanied guardian. Families are welcome and kids do great in Africa!

3.     Agreement to take malaria prophylaxis

4.     Agreement to purchase Emergency medical/travel insurance

5.     Agreement to submit to the leadership of Iris Nacala and the Visitor Guidelines

6.     Completion and acceptance of Visitor Application

3. Pastoral Reference: As part of your application, you will submit your pastor’s email. We will contact them directly for a quick reference. We suggest you let them know to be on the lookout. We cannot accept references from family members. If you already have a pastoral reference letter, you can send it to nacala@irisglobal.org

Once we have all of your documents, we will spend some time reviewing and praying over you. You will hear from us shortly afterwards. Completion of the application does not guarantee that you will be accepted as a visitor. We reserve the right to exercise our discretion in deciding who to invite. We thank you for your understanding. NOTE: If you have been invited by the Baker’s at a conference to visit, a completed application is still needed, unless noted to us by Heidi.
